COMO Castello Del Nero

Among Tuscany’s rolling hills.

COMO Castello Del Nero, Tuscany, is an exceptional 740-acre, historic estate in the world-famous Chianti wine region of Italy, in easy driving distance of the Renaissance cities of Florence and Siena. At the heart of the estate is a twelfth-century castle layered with Renaissance frescoes and contemporary design. The resort offers Michelin-starred dining experiences with estate-to-table Tuscan produce, as well as meaningful wellness therapies at COMO Shambhala Retreat.

18th-century frescoes & panoramic views.

The hotel features 50 rooms and suites, many of which have views across the surrounding Chianti countryside. The castle’s historic, fresco walls and vaulted ceilings remain untouched, while Milanese interior designer, Paola Navone, has introduced a light and modern ‘COMO’ aesthetic.

Michelin-starred restaurant.

The Michelin-starred La Torre restaurant showcases gourmet Italian cuisine using the best ingredients sourced from local farmers, or directly from the estate’s organic garden, which is carefully tended by Executive Chef, Giovanni Luca Di Pirro.

Authentic flavours of Tuscany.

La Taverna and Pavilion offer more informal experiences. La Taverna is situated in the castle’s original kitchen and features an open fire, which creates an intimate atmosphere. Guests can enjoy an extensive drinks list which includes the best wines of the Chianti area and the Tuscan region at large.

Pavilion – which houses COMO Castello Del Nero’s traditional wood-fired pizza oven – offers all-day dining, with menus featuring Mediterranean cuisine as well as international favourites, while overlooking the 740-acre of vineyards and olive groves of COMO Castello Del Nero.

Atmospheric stone cellar.

There is also a wine cellar set in the original twelfth-century castle. The wine cellar is available for private wine and olive oil tastings by request.

Complete wellness experience.

Italy’s long wellness heritage is reflected in the resort’s COMO Shambhala Retreat, where therapeutic massages are designed to help guests take positive steps to improving their health. Facilities include a gym and thermal suites, including an invigorating ice fountain, a gentle sauna, an aromatic steam room and a heated hydrotherapy pool. The relaxation area offers panoramic views across the surrounding vineyards and olive groves. And yoga is provided as a complimentary activity.

Endless vineyards.

COMO Castello Del Nero’s 740-acre estate has long been the site of traditional Tuscan agricultural activity. The estate’s vineyard, olive groves and bee hives are still in active use and supply our kitchens with quality Chianti produce.
