Ever since it was started by Prince Rainier III of Monaco in 1974, the Festival International du Cirque de Monte-Carlo has established itself among the most prestigious global events and considered to be the most famous circus festival in the world!

Comparable in importance to the “Oscars” in the movie industry, the “Clown d’Or” is the most coveted award of this festival and indeed of the entire circus world.

Organised and passionately presided over by HSH Princess Stephanie of Monaco, and broadcasted throughout the world, every year in January the Festival presents a line-up of the best international performances, drawing large audiences.
